Default Sleeper

The ultimate sleeper mustang.. put a V6 "Pony" grille in there and take the gas cover off and put a plain one on. I've heard 13.7 @ 102mph bone stock.

Bob,

I love you but 13.7 in a Mustang for that money is aweful.

13.7 in any Mustang isn't a sleeper. Their are V6 Accords running low 14 for less money.

It does look cool but if it were my coin I'd get a c6 barely used for that money and it would be a better performer over a stang in every category. My friend bought a c6 with 2000 miles for approx $36k from that big vette dealer near AC.

Ohh It's not the fastest or cheapest but it has a certain appeal.

Some Kooks, a tune, and some pullies.. maybe high 12's or low 13's- enough to have fun.

It would still lose to Kennys Z28- but it will hang with it.

Thumbs up

I like the Bullitts a lot, a little pricey yes but I also think it will run quicker than only a 13.7 in the right hands/right track conditions...that's probably a 13.3 second car in stock trim.

The clutch in these cars have very little feel and resistance.. they just go right to the floor and no feedback.

That being said, it's hard to shift and bang gears for average guys (and below average guys like me) but I'm sure there is a way around that.

The "Baby Shelby" we sold was probably a bit nicer all around by far, and sounded real nice:

That one looks much nicer IMO...just needs to lose the fake hood scoop. The grill, body kit and drop springs look pretty sharp.

Wow, how do you do that? Gut the car, stall/gears, every possible bolt on? I still wouldn't think it would go 12.1, nice.

It would be fun to find a beater fox body and turn it into a drag car, even though it's a bit of a cliche by now.

ehh...fette has much flashier crustangs that i would take before i grabbed that...although what i would really be interested in is the black superduty that you guys are unable to sell that keeps popping up on display over by the rear gate. but since my 2007 sport trac is total poo, i doubt i'll get another new ford truck again

His race weight is 2620 so yeah its gutted just alittle , its a 5-speed car. only has intake and headers. He is shooting for 11.9 before he adds nitrous. It's one fast bolt on 302.

I just wish they could get the weight down on all these late model cars. The Camaro, Challenger, the Mustangs....all of them.

If they just found a way to chop 400 lbs off that Mustang and unleased another 20 hp it would be a very solid performer. These foreign sport coupes are getting faster and faster and as an American car fan I just don't know if Ford is doing enough. GM has it covered with the LSX, and the hemi makes great power but Ford is on thin ice.

As these cars get heavier and heavier I think GM/Chrysler are doing the right thing by staying with large cube pushrod motors that make torque. I think thats where Ford is going to be in trouble, but the Mustang still sells really well so what do I know?

They are sharp cars.
It lost a lot of style points once you put a drill to the front bumper though.

I know, engineers find a way to cut weight on crotch rockets every year. Obviously weight is a little more important there, but if they can find 15 lbs every year to cut out, imagine the weight they could save on these cars. All it would take is some engineering time, and they would see vast improvements in fuel mileage over the weight they are now.
