I'm so PISSED!

Strange just called me and tells me I didn't ship them all the parts. I sent them backing plates because thats what I was told to ship. They tell me they need the caliper brackets. So anyways I ended up paying the fucking $270 for new "backing plates" cause I don't feel like waiting until next week to get this fucking rear built.

sucks to hear marco.

On another note thanks again for that rear, hope to have it in towards the end of the month or begining of july.

Anytime Justin!

Just pissed that I'm spending money I don't need to spend because I am impatient.

I just don't understand why the rocket scientist that received my package didn't contact me 3 weeks ago and say hey your missing some parts.

ShevrolayZ28 Jun 11, 2008 11:27 AM

Bummer. At that point I might have opted to install the bearings and axles myself. Hang in there...

Krazy98Z28 Jun 11, 2008 12:05 PM

you pay enough for these rears, they can do all the work :jest:

DannoWS6 Jun 11, 2008 12:11 PM

Yeah that's why I just paid for the new one's. Plus I didn't have extra plates to spare. It does suck paying like $260 for em' though.

Krazy98Z28 Jun 11, 2008 01:48 PM

Don't you have like 2-3 10 bolts laying around

LOL 2 10 bolts, 1 set of backing plates which were in use. So I got an extra set now, I just gotta pull em' off the rear if needed. However I'd rather get rid of em' w/ the rear attached.

styoung Jun 11, 2008 03:35 PM

that sucks Marco, i would of overnighted the parts, it problaly would have been cheaper. but hinds sight is always 20/20. at least you had the money from that short block you sold lol.

Slowhawk Jun 11, 2008 03:47 PM

I thought the backing plates were the caliper mounts?

Noyzee Jun 11, 2008 04:04 PM

race parts are great, be prepared for disapointment alot when it comes to racing. parts late, parts broken, parts wrong, blown parts, need more parts etc etc etc. it is never ending. pretty sure my car has cost close to double what it should and that just from over nighting parts all the time to get stuff done. lol

Die Grinder Jun 11, 2008 07:27 PM

Did you guys really think the calipers were retained by sheet metal backing plates?

LOL, that's just about sig material Brad. Shit, every year I start working on the car in late january/early february figuring I'd have it ready by april, and I haven't made it out once before memorial day in 2 years.

This year I'm gonna start in december, or the first day after the last track trip, in hopes that it will be done to actually get out when the season starts.

But it won't matter, some part is gonna take 12 weeks to get anyway LOL

Krazy98Z28 Jun 12, 2008 10:07 AM

Rear is shipping today :)

DVS99TRANS Jun 12, 2008 05:58 PM

Lucky, I just ordered mine on Monday:( Atleast it's on it way:D

Die Grinder Jun 12, 2008 08:01 PM

If you stayed 12x1.5 when you ordered your rear end, do yourself a favor and get some extra wheel studs/bolts because you are not going to get them at the local hardware store. Strange uses a fully threaded bolt in the axle flange and they can't be had from any other source that I have found. If you break one on a Friday night you'll be thinking " For the want of a nail a kingdom was lost".

JL ws-6 Jun 12, 2008 09:31 PM

Id like to hope that he just went with 5/8 studs right away and saved the whole hassle of worring about a broken stud. You break a 5/8 stud you're doing something impressive

Justins00ss Jun 13, 2008 07:05 AM

not to change the subject but JL I love the sig pic man. Looks badass!!!

Krazy98Z28 Jun 13, 2008 08:27 AM

I believe I got the 1/2"
