Arrow Wow, never seen that befor!!

for those who know me, know thats the story of my life. i destroy **** people never seen befor, and **** people say canot be broke, i can for sure brake it!!!

pulled my rear apart last night to swap to 3:73's, i was doing this just so i could hit it with more spray this weekend, no other reason, well pull the axles, pull the cover to see metal and chuncks all over the place.

hhhmmmmm

spin the ring gear to see a tooth broken on the very bottom, spin it more to see a couple more the same way.

hhmmmm

mesh looks perfect, pinion gear doesnt have a mark on it, and all the other teeth look perfect.

hhmmm

me and my buddy lou look at each other with the

Never seen that befor.

we then go to press the bearing off the pinion gear, we get it pretty much all off i grab it from lou's hands to tap the crush coll off, and the bearing falls apart. just fell apart in my hands.
hhhmmmmm, never saw that befor.

call auto zone, yup we have one, inner and outter.

good, i will take them both.
go there, open the box for the one we need, its a used one that was all damaged.

autozone guy looks at me and said

hhmmm, never saw that befor

needless to say i didnt get my gears done last night, need to pick up a bearing today

That's weird sounds like someone else had that problem when you got the box. Maybe a faulty part? Hope you find a new one.

I've seen a rear end come apart to get freshened up before, that 1/2 the bolts that are supposed to be holding the ring gear on the posi were missing... when we looked at it we couldn't understand how it never broke the bolts that were holding it on, and we couldn't understand why someone would do that.

One of the joys of buying someone else's project How the car made passes down the track, we never understood. Scary part, was the night we picked it up it was at that track that day, drove there and back, was still hot from the drive LOL.
