LOL that was the stocker. Also back when a stock 4l60E could take an 11 sec pass for a while. That was the last year I had a 100% working tranny . yes...memories...

Well it's not that the tranny won't take it but the built one I got never shifted right from day 1. I'd love to go 4l80, but I don't have the $ for that right now. I'd like to swap converters and do a Fast setup over the spring, then I'll revisit the tranny issue. Who knows maybe when I do my converter swap the vendor would be willing to take the tranny back for a look over. The car drives fine on the street it's now a WOT issue only.

It sounds like a line pressure problem. Maybe not enough to get it to shift right @ wot.

If ya can someday get a 4l80 in there, I'd do it. It will be the last tranny you ever put in the car and you can triple the power and still run that tranny.... a win-win IMO.

Yes I've been hearing that a lot about FLT. Your car is performing awesome.

JL, I'd be willing to bet it has something to do with the seperator plate or VB. You see the the 1st issue I had was no 1-2 shift, at all times WOT, and even when not at WOT till the tranny warmed up.

I swapped the VB/Plate and now 1-2 is fine but 2-3 bangs the limiter at WOT. I know it's not tuning and I am sure it's related to line pressure, in terms of the separator plate hole, or maybe the servo getting washed, I dunno something like that.

My other option...I got a VB w/ a trans-go on it from my factory tranny and a separator plate I drilled myself. That tranny shifted awesome. I am sure the vendor would give me grief about doing that and It's just a shot in the dark anyways. I've been trying not to worry about it this year as I have only taken it to the track once.

Keep me in the loop on what you do.

I think rossler makes a manual valvebody for a 4ljunkie, then you couls just shift it when you want, no more computer comtrolling it, probably solve all the problems.

I'd look into that.

That's an idea.

Actually Transgo sells the HD-3 for about $250. It's what everybody recommends for the MVB conversion.

I wonder how good it actually works though. You still can't out shift a computer, when it actually works.

That's the thing, what would you rather rely on, you pulling the lever when you see a shiftlight or s stupid computer activated solenoid that's in a hot transmission to work right all the time....

Something to do some homework on. I know a certain tuner that would probably appreciate it.

I think every tuner would appreciate it.

If there's a reliable way to have a manual valve body on one of those tranny's... I'd get to that right quick. A good tach/shiftlight and you'll hit the shift points every time no problems I'm sure of that, and you can keep the rpm's low when driving around town shifting it early too, probably get better gas mileage that way too I bet.

I rather manually shift then let the computer. It's not rocket science, light goes on pull the lever
