It's really hard to make the long story short here, but here goes. 2023 ZL1 1LE. Bought it new but just had to mod it. Had a CAM and head package done on it and flex fuel conversion just looking for 650 WHP. Engine seized on the dyno. For lack of available parts I opted to put a 416 stroker in it. Kept the stock blower but had it ported by Kong Performance along with a 2.3 upper pulley. Tuned to 830 WHP on E50 fuel. Runs great and now it's extremely dangerous. Took it for a track weekend. at the end of day 2 while putting it on the trailer, a little bit of oil came out of the trans bell housing. (Rear Main Seal) It did not blow the seal but it was obvious I needed a little better crank case ventilation than stock. Added a quality oil catch can and ran it "Wild" from the drivers side oil filler cap. . Streeted the car a bunch to test the catch can (All Good) Signed up for another track weekend. Day one, lap 1 catch can overflowed into the drivers side wheel well, got both front and back tires and I spun off into the desert, luckily not the wall. Went back to the garage and assumed maybe the blow by in that valve cover was too much and wasn't allowing the oil to drain back fast enough so I then plumbed it in "Mild" from the valley cover. Overflowed again immediately. Installed new aluminum baffled valve covers and ran 2 catch cans, one on each valve cover plumbed "Wild" again. And yep, they both overflowed within 3 laps. I even installed a valve on the vacuum line to control the vacuum in case it was that, and it made no difference. The new baffled valve covers are taller than stock so when they filled up the engine cut out to save itself when it sucked air instead of oil from the wet sump. I performed leakdown tests and compression tests (All Good) and blowby is very minimal. The aftermarket Katech oil pump is not oversized and oil pressure is normal. I can't leave the PCV system stock without blowing the rear main and I can't run the catch cans without dropping oil on the track. I am at the point where I either port and polish the oil drain back holes in the heads or try and restrict the oil flow to the heads which feels like a really bad idea. I am having trouble finding anybody with this same issue. I was hoping one of the pros in this forum could point me in the right direction. I've been dealing with this experiment for 18 months and poured thousands into the fix. I'm ready to take this car behind the barn and put it out of its misery.
How's visibility really? And be honest, is the infotainment as bad as people say? Also curious about the 8-speed auto, any shift issues I should test for on the drive?
