I have a 72 Skylark swap I'm starting I've got a 5.3 from a 07silerodo I'm installing that has I think a 4l60e on it . My first question is should I use the nonelectric trans or the 4l60e ? I'm sure the harness for the original trans is cheaper. Also I've heard that the harness that's on the 5.3 and the ecm can be sent off to have modified for the swap can someone tell me where I can send it ? This is the first time I've done this and am trying to make it as easy and affordable as possible. Thanks in advance

I am a new guy here. I have a 1979 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow with a LS 5.3. I bought the car with the conversion 95% completed.

The problem I am having, no one locally can help!

The previous owner removed the fuel injection and has installed a new Elderbrock carb. It has a MSD controller for the ignition system. The MSD has been programmed with their software.

Here's the problem! It will start/run great. When I cut the car off (even after a minute), it will not turn over! The starter solenoid clicks strongly, but the engine will not turn over until you leave it for several hours. It will then start normally. It has a new battery and starter. When the engine will not turn over, I am still getting about 11.9 v. I have not checked the voltage at the starter, but the solenoid sounds strong! Here's my concern. I cannot get the crank to turn using a breaker bar/socket when the engine refuses to turn (after turning it off). After sitting for a few hours, the crank turns freely (and the engine starts fine)!

I am lost! Any help will be valuable!

Just purchased a new Speartech Gen 3 LS harness. 67 C10 LS swap.
I’m confused on how the harness is set up. According to the instructions, the harness has a built in fuel pump relay and I simply connect the fuel pump wire in the harness to my 12v + lead wire to my fuel pump. Seems easy enough.

However, I don’t see any ignition/start relays in the harness. It has a simple 20A fused block with 3 fuses in it. 1 brown wire, 1 small pink, 1 thick pink, 1 thick orange feeding out of the fuses.Thick orange is labeled battery, thick pink is labeled ignition. I’m assuming the ignition wire will need to be on a relay.

I called Speartech and they stated the ignition relay is handled by my chassis wiring and fuse block.

I’m reworking the entire wiring system from Painless and I don’t see anything outlining or referencing ignition relays. The LS harness from Painless uses a small integrated fuse block with relays similar to the OEM setup whereas the Speartech doesn’t.

Do I need to order a standalone LS relay block to integrate into the Speartech harness to handle the ignition and any other high current needs?

I’m honestly very confused.

Hi.

I have been struggling with cruise control in my gen3 P59 LS swap in E39 BMW. I have tackled the A/C to work among many other options this far. However my cruise control stays in "Cruise lockout"-mode.
The engine-transmission-PCM is from Holden Commodore 2006. It's a gen3 P59 PCM (blue/green connectors) LS1 and the transmission is 4L60E. Pedal and TAC are from truck and they talk with each other nicely. I have wired brake pedal signal to a relay which puts 12V to TAC when braking and 6 ohm resistor in that line when not braking. This seems to work since I see "Brake Lamp Switch" activating when I press brake (I'm looking this with Tech2).

The other output of the relay puts 12V to PCM pin #33 (TCC Brake signal) when not braking and 0 V when braking. This I verified with a multimeter.
However, with Tech2 I see "TCC/Cruise Brake Pedal" active all the time. It does not change whatever I do.

For some reason I also see "extended travel brake -active" also in Tech2 but I haven't found that switch from electric schematics. So I'm a bit concerned about the Tech2 lists also.
My only DTC present is "Crankshaft variation not learned" and I tried that procedure with Tech2 today. It revs well past 4 k in that test and the test won't complete. Perhaps this is related to the TCC/Brake situation(?)

Got a 1995 BMW E34 530i. Stock is obviously the M60B30, but that things on its way out and the limit performance wise is low so to say. I've never LS swapped anything, but I've heard this swap is quite common and familiar to the community. Is there anything I should know, places of information I should look through? Any advice helps.

For the engine, I was thinking of an LQ9. It's got good potential without making me spend my last dime. Transmission would either be a T56 or a GS6-53BZ. I know the GS6 isn't very common for this but I saw another guy on youtube do it with the same engine (go check out Aperture Motorsports) and he did it with this transmission, so it made me a little curious.

Again, any helpful information would mean the world to me. Thanks!

I thought I would share this build with the community that helped make it happen. Backstory of the car first. This car was once owned by Dick Miller’s wife. Dick was associated with Joe Amato’s top fuel team and a local to me. Dick was buddies with a guy named Larry Baish aka Mountain Man. Larry was a classmate of my mother. I’ve known Larry since I was 12. He was a great guy and amazing farmer-based mechanic. He was a staple at the local drag strip, South Mountain Dragway at that time. When Dick Miller’s wife wanted a new car, he and Larry went to work on this car. They removed the original 350 cube diesel and installed a ‘70 455, TH350 and swapped in a wagon rear (narrowed with aftermarket axles) to get the 3.08 gear ratio. It had all the 80’s speed tricks done to it. It had 6 mufflers to keep it quiet. And it was used to torture the local youth on the street. He would drag race it periodically and I thought it was a cool car (in a butter-face girl kinda way). So years later Larry is getting up in age and I asked what happened to the Olds. He said it was sitting at his house and would I like to buy it. I said “hell yeah!” And so the saga began. This is what it looked like when I dragged it home.

Hello all, I’ve been reading through threads and looking through websites like crazy trying to figure out what harness to get for my situation so I was hoping maybe somebody has already run this combo and knows

I know the car isn’t important to the harness but the swap is going into a
1979 trans am Y84

This is the powertrain

2008 LS4 L92 6.2L
2008 6L80
That’s easy so far, the part that is confusing me and I haven’t been able to figure out is I have a

Edelbrock dual Ram dbl throttle body DBW intake I want to use on the engine.

the only think I can find that might work is a Holley harness but then it doesn’t have the transmission controller integrated so I’m
not sure what to use for the transmission. And Holley seems like some of the priciest harnesses so I’d like to avoid them if possible.

Can I use a BP performance or comparable harness that is designed for one throttle body and somehow use a splitter or something to activate both throttle bodies? Or is there another work around I haven’t found?

Thanks in advance for any input !

I have a 96 S10 with an LS swap using the Holley High mount accessory kit. The clearance between the p/s pulley and the high pressure hose is .25 at most. I know nothing about stainless steel hose fabrication, so I'm looking for a pre-made hose that routes away from the pulley. If the ss version is my only choice I would need an adapter fitting for the pump, and a hose fitting that has a short 90* fitting. Has anyone else run into this problem? I know the fitting on the pump needs to be changed to an 961961ERL. The tube on the 1st hose rubbed thru on the pulley with the resulting mess. The current hose is from a 2005 Corvette. Sorry if I'm rambling.

I know that Holley is King for this stuff, but are there any other options out there for a seamless swap? Holley comes with a hefty price tag for what this is. I am putting a LS1 into my 67 and will be keeping AC and power stearing. Im sure a mid mount or high mount setup will work but if not, please explain. If I can run OE accessories, NOT TRUCK, then what is the best option to achieve this goal?

installing a 5.3 in a 69 camaro. car is apart now and body on a rotisserie. i have the motor together and have a set of 2 piece valve covers that hide the coil packs installed. a guy told me today that the covers will not work due to hitting the brake booster. he said you could get the installed but you would not have enough room to remove the drivers side cover { the top part that hides to coil packs}. you would have to move the brake booster to get it off. he told me even with a 7" booster its almost impossible to get it off. i have searched and can not find any issue people have had with interference. does anyone know anything about this? i can install a hydro boost brake system but thats pricey.
