Car cold starts perfectly fine, runs/drives fine as well. If the car is left running for longer than 20 min and shut off (or stalled) car will not turn on until it cools off for about half an hour.
It will continue to crank, Getting a jump from another car doesnt help. Ive had this car for just over a year and it has always done this.

Hi all,

I recently bought a ’97 Trans Am, and it’s been running fine overall. I replaced the thermostat, flushed and refilled the coolant, and properly bled the system. However, it has started overheating at idle or when stopped at a light. On the highway, it stays at normal operating temperature with no issues.

This just started today. It’s about 90F outside, and every other time I've driven it, it's been a cooler day.

Any help or advice is appreciated.

Bought the car non running got it running pretty smooth but I've always felt the car was sluggish and slow but never stalled or had trouble idling I was going over the car again when I realized that sensor wasn't plugged in so naturally I plugged it in and it idles way worse odly enough past 2000 rpm that car feels amazing great power no misfire but anything below that it falls on its face and will try to stall out if the throttle is not held wide open.

The car is a 93 firebird formula with a stock lt1
