Default Florida Titles and Auctions

There is a dealer here in Houston that sells lots Vettes, Vipers, etc. If you pull the history report, 9 out of 10 were bought at an auction in Florida. Is there something particular about FL laws that benefit him doing this? Like is he buying damaged cars, fixing, and reselling in TX because the title stays clean? Just curious

I'm not sure but I think if you bounce it through enough
state title transfers, maybe you can get the "salvage"
to fall off. Used to be people seemed to do this through
Tennessee, I vaguely recall.

That, or Miami is still the drug (hence forfeiture auction)
capital of the country.

Florida has a high line auction once a month that dealers from all over the states attend. There are lots of exotics that are bought and sold here in Florida. That is my guess. All dealers pay sales tax from the county that they work in so tax is not a factor.

lots of higher end cars go through the auctions in FL and they are pretty cheap compared to retail
