1st time out, track time
Finally got to the track today, 12/21/08.
1999 T/A
Warhawk 427 forged rotating assembly
LS7 heads and intake (unported)
Vengeance LS7x cam 238/254 112 lsa
ARH headers, TSP duals w/spiral flows
M6, Tex clutch, 9" 3.89 gears
Only thing not touched is the tranny (weak link)
Kuhmo Ecsta MX tires
EFI Alchemy tune

Spun bad 1st and 2nd (big surprise) 3rd pulled like hell, 4th wasn't near redline. Not a surprise. 1st run on a track in 7 years. Was looking for the MPH as this wasn't built to be a 1/4 racer. I felt the MPH could get a bit higher with a better launch.
2nd run, Better burn out. At 3000 the tires grabbed and the car bogged (forgot how much stickier the racetrack is). Shifted at 6900 2nd pulling strong, then at about 6700 (peak power) CRUNCH! Suddenly I'm coasting. Push clutch in and coast off the track. Motor running fine put into 1st and start driving away . Put into 2nd, GRIND and sounding ugly. Try all other gears and its fine. Broke 2nd gear .
I had parts ordered for the tranny to be done back in June from 6-speeds inc. and had to cancel for no delivery. Now I get to pull the tranny and build it like I should of the 1st time. Oh well, Just have to laugh and things are gonna break.

See whats broke, replace, upgrade, and thrash. Shoot for 130 MPH.
On a side note, I have seen many concerts in the late 70's, 80's. Aerosmith, last concert I saw in 97'. They were great. But, after seeing AC/DC last night,
it was the best concert I have ever been to. LET THERE BE ROCK! F'N AWESOME! OLD GUYS ROCK! I am one

That sucks you only got one run out of it, this was at Grudge race Sunday in Bradenton right? Thats alot of power to run with street tires and a 6 speed, not the best choice for dragracing.
