Default R.I.P 10 bolt

So it finally happened, the 10 bolt bit the dust. The worst part is that it's not even a cool story.

I was pulling out of the city place garage and heard a clunking noise coming from the rear. So I decide to pull over at the next turn and take a look. Well before I could even make the turn I hear a baby rattle from the rear end. Stuck in the middle of downtown West Palm I get out to see and all I could smell was diff fluid, looked under the car and there was a puddle of fluid. So my buddy and I get the car off the road and I get on the ground and there is a 6 inch split in the cover.

Just got the car back to my buddys house. I am going to rip the cover off tomorrow and see what actually happened. I will post up some pics of the damage.
But the worst part of all is that I am out of town taking car of business. I am 180 miles from home with a broken rear end. FML

That does suck, mine made some horrible noises on my last track outing. I let it cool for a few hours and limped it home. I don't dare drive it even another 10 feet though, I'm pretty sure my carrier is trashed.

Damn! The cover split? I wonder how many people get such carnage just from cruising with a 10 bolt?

It's still there. I just couldn't see it in the dark using my cell phone for light.

LOL @ thinking your T/A was missing. that must have been a sinking feeling thinking you lost it and then feel like an idiot when you see it under there at daylight.

Give me a call if you need any help. Sucks to have that happen especially out of town.

So its not as bad as I thought. I don't know how the bolt broke, but it snap and made a mess of things. Here is the damage.

I also would like to thank 98z28bitcha for the help tonight.

Default 10 bolt

If you don't have the cash for a replacement, repair it .

Looks like the gears are not hurt ?
