Actually I'm looking for someone to teach me how to weld. I recently bought a mig welder and need someone to teach me how to use it. The reason I say N Orlando is because I would prefer someone to come over to my house so I can use my welder to get familiar with it. I know 2 guys in Kissimmee that said they would help me but I want to learn on mine and it's not exactly mobile. I know this sounds like a lot to ask but am willing to do what I can to make it worthwhile. PM me if anyone is interested. I apologize if I sound like I'm being a pain in the a$$.

Honestly man it just takes practice. Go to a metal supply place (http://www.alro.com/) and buy some scrap from them, its like 50 cents a pound. Check out youtube for some "how to MIG weld" and go to town.

Just practice and post up some pics of your welds in the tools and fabrication section and you can get some feedback on them.

I watched people weld and was shown the basics, and then I bought a welder and practiced myself and that's how I really learned.

Theres alot of tips an expert can give you that you wont pick up yourself.
Buy a good autodarkening helmet,not a cheap harbor freight one.
Mines lightweight and has lasted 10 yrs so far. It pays to buy good tools and equipment.
Our apprenticeship school has a class and the expert welder/instructor is a female who works for me,
and was trained by US Army.

If you don't have a bottle yet for gas, then get that before starting. Flux core sucks.

The main things are learning how to setup the machine for the material, listening to know when things are going right and how to adjust to make them right.
