Default need to get my car tuned who can do it

Im having a 5.3 (lm7) installed into my 98 trans am around the middle to end of the month. So, needless to say its going to need a tune....Im not looking for any amazing power gains or such, just want it to run nice and smooth with no issues. Before all the critics bash me for putting a 5.3 into T/A all i have to say if you wish to pay for it then i will listen.....my job screwed me over big time and destroyed my savings so now on the econo route. The motor is going to be installed by joeyspeed up here by the pasco/hernando line so the closer you are(the tuner) the better. Get at me with prices, potential outcomes and such. By the way car is an auto with no mods other than, flowmasters, exhaust cut out, and a k&n filter. My advance thanks to those who can assist!

Thanks SILVER 2288 SS

I will be back that way come the end of July or early August, but you can also check out the guys at Precision Motorsports since they are relatively close to you based on your location. Maybe 25-30 miles or so.

www.pm-fl.com

Most tunes will run in the $400-500 range with dyno time.

Formato travels around as well, he has a thread in this section with his schedule for the coming weeks.

There are a good bunch of tuners in the state.

Like Mike Norris suggested, check the guys out at Precision. They aren't that far from you.

I would recommend Dan @ MASPORT. He is the author of the book Master Engine Tuner and is a well respected tuner (both by racers, and his peers). He did a great job with my car, and I can't say enough about his professionalism. If you choose to go with him, you will be very happy with the results.

Default Tune

Doc @ EFI does great work. Formato is good also.

Jeremy Formato would be the shortest distance for ya.

After it's installed, if your 5.7 tune was a stock tune, the 5.3 might run fine !

^^from what ive read, it will need to be retuned, something with the fuel maps and something else, tuning is not my thing. Anyways I just want the car to run like stock, have no urge to make it ridiculously fast

If you want a professional shop with a dyno, precision is the place to go. They are the shop that teaches the tuning school. Ian and bob are very good.

I dont mind helping out guys in the tampa area if you need something touched up on a tune.
