Wish I were in town, I'd do it for $150. I won't be back til Monday though. Is the car running, or completely down hence the opti swap? Hopefully someone can get you up and running! Welcome to FL, hope you enjoy it down here.

To change the opti you will have to take the crank pulley off. Couldn't do #2 plug? I take it you still have the stock exhaust manifolds then? See if a local auto parts store has a pulley puller and installer. Probably have to take the hub off, last one I did I had to. If its your first time doing it, start to finish should take you eight hours or less with some beer breaks and following a Haynes or Chiltons manual. Its not too bad. I live an hour north of Tampa actually, I get in Monday and start class back up Tuesday, I have no idea yet how this semester is going to go for free time honestly. Surprised no one else needs some extra cash in Tampa and offered their help yet.

It's really not too bad of a job though honestly, you could probably get it done by the time you need it done by yourself. Pull air intake off, fans, waterpump, crank pulley/hub, opti. Reverse process, bleed the coolant system. Its really not too bad, like I said maybe Autozone or Advanced Auto Parts will have the rent a tool for the puller/installer, or just buy them, the price isn't too bad for those tools.

As a special note, put loctite on the Opti rotor screws.

Its awesome you guys are all battling over a job that you are all under quoting. Way to devalue automotive technician skills. I rather sit around and do nothing then get paid $125-$150 to do a tune-up and opti on an LT1. This is rather amusing.

No.... it's awesome we help other f-body enthusiast for a really decent price then to **** them in the *** with no ky as you probably would for a easy job. If this job seems so hard that you would rather sit on your *** then maybe you need to work on your automotive technician skills? You sound like the guy that charges his best friend to do a cam swap on his ls1 Camaro.

The issue here is to be a paying supporting vendor is $350 plus per month here, and this type of blatant advertising to undercut those that pay to play....and then you claim they are "ripping people off" for charging what they need to cover rent/insurance/licenses/advertizing, etc.

I know I would be pissed.

Its not like this thread is about selling cam kits or 9'' rear ends. The guy just needs a little help with a tune up. I am one of the biggest supporters of our sponsors here. If you didn't just sign up you would know.
