Default Any Jobs near Orlando?

Im considering moving to Orlando and was wondering what the job market is like overthere. I currently work as a project manager for a small construction company that does commercial buildings and interior finishouts. I kinda want to get away from that industry but if the pay is good it doesnt really matter.

Any pointers will help. thanks

Little word of advice, and I don't mean to sound negative, but coming from observations and experience Florida is not the place to move without a job. However, if you're a Dr. lawyer, or CPA you may be able to do it or, if you have a trust fund to fall back on.

Construction, ain't been much of that going on for a while now.

Best of luck on whatever you decide.

I'm currently working as an APM in construction in south florida and there isn't much going on and there isn't much on the horizon. Orlando is even worse. There does seem to be some infrastructure work going on like roadways and some underground utlilites but aside from that most everything else is dead. I wouldn't even think about coming to Florida unless I already had some work.

I work for the largest mechanical contractor in the state, in the orlando office. Not the industry to be in right now.

Thats what I figured about the construction industry down there. I was there about 6 months ago and it was very calm compared to how it used to be. But I really dont care to stay as a PM. I used to work as an interpreter at a hospital and also a car audio installer for Nelly and some other rappers back in STL. I know I probably wont be making as much but my wife can go bak to work and it will get me out of texas. I apprecaite you guys' honest input either way. Hearing news from people that live there is always better than assuming. Thanks

lol @ the comment above.

I'm currently in Orlando and will be heading back home tomorrow. Gotta say after my first time down here it is quite different than back in Texas & Oklahoma. Good luck on your decision OP.
