What's the E85 availability in Central Florida? I'm moving to Florida in a little over a month from Colorado. I'm wondering if there are a lot of E85 stations down there or not. Here I would say one out of ever four or five has E85. |
Ha good luck finding any. Theres none here around downtown that I know of |
The only one i know of is off the turnpike...... |
Looks like I will just have to stick with pump gas + meth |
I haven't seen one yet, I live about an hour north of Tampa. |
If you do a search on google they have websites that tell you where all the local E85 stations are and if they are Public or private. Last I looked there were only 6 in all of FL, with only 1 being public and it wasn't anywhere near central florida |
turnpike at turkey lake plaza im going to try LL 100 av gas |
100LL avgas has 8 times the lead that old school 87 avgas. The LL was a title they gave it to give people the warm and fuzzy. They are working on getting unleaded avgas, but to no avail so far. Most engines can run on 93 unlead but no engine manufacturers want to risk the lawsuits. Summary: Avgas will destroy your oxygen sensors.... |

Oh, then by all means use avgas. www.airnav.com and you can check local airport fuel prices. Sheltair at Orl Ex is 6.28 Avion at Orl Sanford is 5.31 Airpark at Massey (Edgewater) is 4.09 (and easily accessible) Prices vary widely! |
Humm my neighbor has a lease plane at Sanford and told me $3.50 But that was over a week ago |
Flight schools negotiate prices because of large quantities. By all means if you can get in on that deal, but as a person walking up, no. When I started flying I think it was $1.50 lol! |
E85 finding app Back in 2021, I was running a google sheet for local E85 stations and my followers would send me pics of their tests to keep E% on the sheet updated. I decided to turn this idea into an app. Currently has over 4900 e85 stations listed nationwide and looking for early users to help test and submit E% data. Would love some feedback from the community! https://e85scout.com/ Thought I'd bring this thread back to life for future discoverers! Any and all feedback is welcome! |
