Exclamation Can anyone recomend a Machine Shop in Miami?

Building an LQ4/L92 with a FAST LSXr intake and I want to deal with someone who has the experience.

Any suggestions, with referrals would be great.

If you could drive up to West Palm/Riveria Beach I would recommend Mike at Total Engine Concepts(TEC). He is located right next to Mosler. Builds the baddest in the business.

I really don't want to make the drive. As it is I live in homestead. I'm sure the has to be a few reputable ones in Miami.

Just putting it out there...

Many people will ship engines across the country for a good engine builder.

I have no input on the other builders mentioned here, but you have several people telling you TEC. What you need to do is determine if a short drive is worth it in exchange for someone that will do it right

Close does not automatically equal Good....

Worth driving a little further for quality, then to get junk from around the corner.

Dude you're going to bitch about a B.S. drive from Miami to WPB for quality engine work!? I was born and raised in Miami so it's not as if I don't know what I'm talking about... a drive to WPB ain't ****! Make use of 95 and GO see Mike @ TEC! He's even right off 95 (just east) to make it that much easier to find once you get off. I now live in North Florida and that's who I'm sending my 455 build to and I'm not bitching about miles.

All the greats are gone in south Florida - Heads by Rick ( he's now in Vegas doing work for Shelby last I heard), Russ Auto, others I don't even remember. They were all along 441 just south of Hollywood. There is also REDLINE in Davie, but **** Rich (the owner) and that retard Ed (I think that was his name) his little gimp, lol! He fucked me on my 383 way back in the day! Come to think of it, I can't recall one shop in Dade itself where I had any work done, it was all Broward shops.

I hope you're not being this cheap on your build, but then again, you don't want to make a simple drive.

Call Mike @ TEC!

Or just call Lashaway, but IIRC they use Mike as well.

END THREAD!

I never complained about the 1 1/2 Hour drive. I just thought there was a quality builder closer. But I guess not. I'll contact mike and set everything up. Thanks for everyones input.

Hey bud, we just spoke on the phone.

Mike at TEC builds our shortblocks. As we discussed, we can take the block and other parts off of your hands, and handle the rest. I am up there once in a while anyway and can deliver/pick up.

Then we can complete the long block, and tune her on our dyno...

All you do is show up, drop off, and pick up a finished car!

Had him do a short block for me a few years ago. It took him 4 months to get it done. What a PITA. Would never,,, ever,,, go back..
