Default Exhaust Help in Jax....EFI Alchemy to the rescue

Guys, I just drove down here for work (took the G8) and it sounds like some of my exhaust bolts loosened up (have a leak and there is some contact on turns). Are there any good shops in the Jacksonville area that you could recommend me?

Thanks,
James

I made an appointment with EFI Alchemy. I figured I was due for a tune as well so they'll tighten things back up and then give her a nice tune. I'll report back tomorrow night.

Well the results are in and I'm more than happy. Doc and his guys are some of the nicest you'll ever meet (besides the fact that they do top notch work). I had a 6pm appointment last night that didn't start until 6:40 since I hit some wonderful Jacksonville traffic (mapquest said 30 min....that turned into 80 minutes). On the way to the shop, my car started acting up (felt like I was in my cammed SS) and the stop and go wasn't helping. When I finally made it there I explained everything that was going on. In 5 minutes my car was on the lift and diagnosed with the exhaust leaks I knew I had plus one of my spark plug wires came loose. Thank god it was an easy fix. Doc's team had my exhaust wrapped up in no time and put my plug wire back on. While all of this was going on, I was picking Doc brain about other things. You can tell by speaking with the man that he loves what he does.....it's his passion and shows in his work. Now, on to the dyno. The car was strapped down for a baseline and put down 319 rwhp and 339 rwtq sae corrected untuned (this is with the Vararam, Kooks 1 7/8 LT's, Catted X, and stock mufflers). Doc told me I'm leaving some on the table with the stock mufflers in place but it was necessary to stay sane on a 14 hr drive (the pypes A/B and dod drone will rattle the teeth out of your head). After working his magic and a few pulls later, the car put down 348 rwhp and 362 rwtq sae corrected a gain of 29 rwhp and 23 rwtq. I'm not big into dyno numbers but by seeing what I gained, I knew the drive back to my hotel would be fun (oh it was). We chose to turn off the DOD for now so I'll see how the mpg's are next week on the drive back home. If anyone is on the fence about going to see Doc, go and talk to him for 5 minutes. That's all you'll need.

Doc and the guys are great. My low HP car runs pretty good. Only 321hp and 324tq. Which is why dyno numbers mean nothing to me either. Seat of your pants and the slip at the end of the track say it all.

What day are you leaving we are doing an event at EFI the 11th.

I'm leaving around 12AM on 3/10 so I miss some of the traffic heading back up to NY. Wish I could make the event, but I'll definitely make the meet this Sat night. Yea, I learned a long time ago that if you get stuck on dyno numbers, your more than likely going to get disappointed. Your car is a perfect example....you tell some ricer it puts down 320 to the wheels and they laugh....you run 11.99 at the track when he lines up next to you and they shut up real fast.

Thanks bud. Can't wait to check out your 98. I need to do the pcm swap on mine before I put the F1-C on the car with the new motor. Can you guys recommend me a good car wash so I can get the G8 clean before the meet?
