Anyone here work as a Merchant Mariner or with the SIU I just mailed in my paper work to the SIU so now I'm waiting on a reply for part 2 of the process, then off to Piney Point, Md for the training.
Does anyone work as a merchant mariner or for the Seafarers International Union? I was going to Med school, but with everything that has happened this last year with my dad dying and my mom's stroke and health, money has become tight and my head is not really in it right now. A buddy of mine was in the SIU and suggested that I look into it and give it a shot. Since I was with the D.O.D, he said, I might enjoy it.
Well if there's anyone here that's in the MM or SIU, I'd like to hear from you and maybe get some tips and thoughts on it.
