Car was lightly rearened, question on FL insurance
I'm hoping someone can help shed some light on this situation. My car was rearended by a semi towtruck at less than 5MPH. The damage is some scuffed paint (cannot buff out) and small chips on the bumper.
During the accident I called the police for a report, and notified my insurance company. The guy who hit me is 100% at fault (I have everything on camera). So my question is, since the other driver is completely at fault, will I have to pay my deductible, or will his insurance cover everything? I've never been in this situation before, and my insurance agent won't be back until Monday, and I don't trust insurance companies.

Yeah, you shouldn't have any problems. His company will pay for a rental too. Some insurance companies will ding you for a not at-fault accident if ever you should shop your rates so don't be surprised when that day comes, lol.

There are two scenarios:
1) You can file a claim with your insurance company, pay deductable and then YOUR insurance company will go after his XYZ insurance company...as well as your deductable. This can be weeks to months before you get your deductable, reimburced for rental car etc. Technically speaking YOUR insurance AGENT cant really do much in regards to speaking to HIS company directly...as they someone puts them into a "legal" guide manner which isnt legal.
2) File with his insurance company. They cover deductable. Rental car coverage. etc etc. You prob should just call his company directly. Dont even bother with your company.
