Guess who's back? (back again)

Hello everyone,

It's been more than 4 years, but I finally made it back to LS1tech. A lot has happened since I sold the 99 SS.

- Moved to Colorado and continued my law enforcement career
- Moved back to South FL to deal with family issues
- Changed careers (in property management now)
- Leased a new M6 Camaro (hate it so far)
- Looking to get back into the F-body game

Well, that sums it up. How have you all been?

Welcome back! I've been on hiatus too but getting back into it. Didn't get rid of anything, the Camaro has sat in the garage for a long time and I added a C5 to the fleet.

Been a long time man!

Why dont you like the new Camaro?

Welcome back bro. Good to see you again.

I sold my second gen f body and my 30th anniversary and went on hiatus and just got back myself after a 5 year absence. I just got into a 2000 ws6.

In a nutshell, lots of problems/gremlins. I'm on my 2nd new Camaro as GM bought back the other one. Once the head unit gets a bug, the A/C, Bluetooth, radio, Iphone connectivity, back-up camera, etc stop working. Endless trips to the dealer, and even though I take video of the issues they "can not replicate" and "update the software" and give it back to me.

The seats are also garbage. Not nearly as comfortable as anything else I've sat in, and the fabric itself is hard to keep clean. Lastly, the portal window behind each seat is just for show. Blind spots galore.

Hmm good to know!

It's the myriad of computers on board. According to Ed Morse Chevy, the automatic Camaro they bought back had 18 of them! My manual has a more reasonable 15 (lol).

As a whole, cars have too much technology packed into them, and it's ruining the driving experience. Too many "nannies". In my 4th gen, a simple push of the ASR button let me have the fun I wanted to have if I chose to. In this car, I have to hold down the same button for 7 seconds! Why?

Don't get me wrong, bluetooth is great (when it works) and I like having all of my music at my fingertips as opposed to burning 100 CDs, but other than that, just leave me alone and let me drive. Don't call me WHILE I'M IN THE MIDDLE OF A PHONE CALL to tell me my Onstar or Sirius subscription is expiring soon. If I wanted to renew, I would have called YOU.

Big changes for me, but all for the better. Career change into the Criminal Justice field, got married, bought a house, got old. All things that were bound to happen but at least they have all worked in my favor. Glad to see you back in the area and on the forum, and hopefully back in an F-Body again soon. Let me know if you're going to get any get togethers going, it's been a long time since I've cruised out anywhere in the Z. Sad to think I let it sit this long. Tires are #1 on the list, good tread but super old! Sorry you have had so many issues with the 5th gen. The electronics on the C5 are enough to keep a person busy.. a new car is probably a nightmare.

That's awesome! What are you doing in CJ?

Waaahhhhhhh my car is too high tech and I can't work iiitttt.......

:D:D:D what's up Dana , long time!

Welcome back. A 4th Gen without the ASR is even better...

The SSheriff Jun 22, 2016 05:57 PM

What's up Chris!!?? How have you been?

I can't work on this car because it's a lease. If I take it to the dealer one more time I am lemon-lawing the car and buying a 4th gen.

Anyone know any SS Camaros for sale (preferably under 65K miles) that are 6spd and t-top?
