LQ9 swap parts suggestions
 

Looking to swap into a 95 300ZX. Already have the kit picked which includes long tube headers. I'm looking for a 400-425 rwhp fun little car. Trying to keep cost down. I've read about the limitations but keeping the 317 heads. I'll purchase rocker trunion upgrade. I have a T56. Need intake, cam, injectors, accessory drive... Keeping an eye on the LS1TECH classifieds. Used parts ok where it makes sense. Knowing where I am what would you suggest, thanks.

loj inovations makes a nice kit that uses the z accessories.

my junk yard 5.3 makes 365 whp with a mid level cam, you can get 400 from a lq9 pretty easily. even with 317s. ive never used a trunion upgrade and never had a rocker fail. i use my cars from drifting and bounce them off revlimiter and always in high rpms.

for the love of god dont fall down the old school path of thinking you have to completely rebuild your motor and go to a machine shop etc. these motors are strong. no rod bolts. do a cam with springs and maybe pushrods, oil pump, and good timing set and youll be golden.

Yeah what he said. Upgrade. Oil pump, ls2 timing chain. Cam. Ls6 intake. Springs and retainers. Push rods.

definitely following this thread, bought an 06 escalade yesterday with the LQ9 for my 90 300zx LS swap. needing to know what all is needed for the swap from LOJ and what is needed to get 450+whp
