LS1's In Gainesville?

Are there any clubs or anything related to fbodys/ls1's in G ville? Im just lookin for some fun! Many people on this board in G ville? Any track days?

There's a few folks on here from G'ville. I'm up in Dead Oak, I mean Live Oak.
Maybe some folks down there have a club, dunno.

We used to have a club a year or so back, but lack of participation (common of UF students) and the bs cop haggling that came from the ricers finding our hang out spots and making a bad name for us. If ever want to know anything about racing in Gainesville, ask me as I'm usually at the track and a buddy of mine owns Rollins Automotive in town.

I live in Gainesville. I dont have a car though. I drive a white '99 Silverado 2WD single cab fleet side with a 5.3L. I go to the track as often as I can. Last time I went, which was the 19th of February, I got a 14.888 at 90.06mph. Pretty decent for a truck I think. When I'm able to get a job I plan on having it in the 12's. I'm in bad need of a posi rear and maybe some 3.73's or 4.10's.

Hey man your truck sounds like its runnin pretty good. Have you done much to it? cya around..

I'm in Melrose and have a 5.3 99 Sierra. Never ran it at the track though. She's got 170k on her and I have to be nice. We should get some people together in the area though.

if you guys decide to try and get something going again, or want a little help doing so, lemme know! I'd love to bring GMCA (Gainesville Muscle Car Association) back again :D

Derek

Am I excluded? Don't exactly have a muscle car.

I think we could make an exception for ya! :) I just don't want to advertise trucks and get a bunch of lowriders and jacked-up trucks.

I hear ya, I'd like to go just check out some of ya'lls cars I've never even ridden in an F body :emb: . My truck may not be to fast but I still pull pretty hard on v6 maro's and Mustangs :D

Hey... thats cool, maybe we could start something up.. :) Or atleast get some guys together and hang out at the track sometime..

Bullhead00 Mar 2, 2005 12:01 AM

I would have no problem with that. I'm currently going to Santa Fe and plan on going to UF next year sometime. Like I said, I go to the track every other test 'n tune. So I'll be there March 30th. Yeah, I have to admit my truck runs pretty good for what I have done to it. Dual Borla exhaust, LS1 e-fans, Hypertech, and K&N induction. After I get a job which SHOULD be this month I plan on having it in the 13's, which shouldn't be too hard. Also, I was checking out the GMCA website a few weeks ago. I thought it looked like it was no longer active with the members. A good reference site to look at would be TMCA (Tallahassee Muscle Car Association). I do a few things with those guys every now and then. I'm from Perry, FL; so I was closer to Tally before I moved to Gainesville.

like I said if you guys want to try and get something going, we can always give it a shot. I'd need someone to spread the word around campus (that's the main draw) by flyers and other means. Since I have a full-time job, I have limited amount of time, but can get some buddies with cars to come I know (about 5-7 cars).

Yes, TMCA is an awesome site! Some of them actually make their way over to Gainesville for the test N tunes sometimes.
