Saw 2 Carrera GT's in Naples

Hey guys, just got back from a weeks vacation in Naples and was driving by the Naples Porsche dealership and there were 2 Carrera GT's, one red and one white. I'm not real big on foreign cars but they do look nice. Anyone else seen any in real life? Or raced one :D ?

I saw a black one northbound on I-95 around the Ft Pierce area about a month ago. I was going southbound so I couldn't mess with him ;), but he was haulin' ass.

my fiances uncle just got one, he says its dam fast. I told him we should line them up sometime, I have no idea what they have so I am gonne do some research. Thie may be the reason for me to put on the dual stage shot.

dam 600hp, and its a 5.7ltr. looks like i will need some nitrous

MountainMotor Jan 16, 2006 12:28 AM

Yea, you'll need some juice. If you get to ride in it or line them up let me know how fast it is :D .

I've seen one in West Palm Beach. Little too gaudy for me.

It's very fast, and has a V-10 that revs like an indy car. If you ever get a chance to look at one up close, do it. They arn't your every day super car. Cd player, A/C, Electric Seats. Pretty much fully loaded.

The tested 1/4 mile I found was 11.1 @ 133.4, on street tires.

I don't know about if they're QUITE that fast but they are in the 11's... I think 11.5 is the most consistent... they're made for top end as most 'exotics'. I saw a vette race one at my last PCH cruise - he was spraying a 125 shot and was cammed with exhaust... he lost.

black01_WS6 Jan 16, 2006 12:29 PM

going for a ride today or tomorrow after I get off work. he said he would let me drive it because he has no idea how to actually drive the car. I guess I can show him some pointers. haha this should be fun as hell.

The cars are badass. One lives in Vero Beach florida,..it's black. Probably the one spotted in Ft.Pierce.

I've seen a silver oner twice here, niether time have I been in my car. I'm not a big Porsche fan but, these cars are works of art. Very tough sounding, not porsche like,...and very low, and wide. I would love to race one one day.

MELISSA05 Jan 16, 2006 06:13 PM

Is this car black or dark green (looks black)? If so, I know who owns this car... I live in Port St. Lucie and a client at the law firm where I work owns one and he lives in Vero Beach. I work in Ft. Pierce... :) If it's the same person he also owns a red Ferrari (bad ass)...

I've already lost count of how many Carrera GT's I've seen.....

Black, Silver, Red, gray.

I work behind the collection in Coral gables.... so it's not odd to see sick cars like this.

blackbird00 Jan 17, 2006 03:54 PM

i was goin to krispy kreme the other night and i saw a silver one. There were 3 dudes on bikes toyin wth him. Two of teh were 600 and the one kid had a CBR 1000 that probably would have been the only chance thoes kids had. He got on it briefly and man did it sound good. Not that sputturing go-kart sound the V-6 make but this was a low deep tone. Sounded awsome.

black01_WS6 Jan 17, 2006 07:11 PM

ya well after driving one today I think that i would give my left nut for one. what a platform to start from. anyone see a silver one today on 41 in florida, it was me and my fiances uncle. I scared the shit out of him, he told me to get on it and I flored it. the look on his face was priceless.

You suck!!!

black01_WS6 Jan 21, 2006 08:14 PM

gregg I should of came by and picked you up, we were in naples. Or at least you could of tried to keep up in the work vehicle. haha. So when you getting your car tuned?

Gregg 00SS Jan 22, 2006 04:15 AM

You need to have him come out to Potts one of these weekends, lol. Car will be tuned sooner or later, probably whenever I'm not poor. So maybe later as opposed to sooner, hahaha. BTW, is traffic down there on the beach always bumper to bumper? Went down there this evening and oh my god. I came in from Bonita Beach Rd and it must have taken me 30 minutes to go 2 miles. Made me wish I had an automatic.

black01_WS6 Jan 22, 2006 12:32 PM

yup its always this bad and it isn't even season. then it may take up to 2 hours to get off the beach from where im at. thats why I leave in the early morning and wake everyone up.
