Default Side-By-Side MT's vs Nitto's = MAJOR DIFFERENCE

Here's the visible difference for anyone who ever wanted to see the difference going from a Nitto 275/40R/17 555 Extreme Drag Radial to a MT 315/35R/17 Street DR.

Thanks Mike. I believe I've seen your car before over in Oviedo ... love the color. Hoping to get some good weather so I can take the 'Brid to the track tomorrow and post some times here.

let's see 315 - 275 = 40mm more which is 1.57" in additional section width.

I'm guessing the new tread design is as bad in the rain as the old one?

Would like to know that as well. Didn't know that MT changed their tread design. Do they wear out the same like the old ones too?

Techincally, yeah. Since the MT's tend to run a little wider they measured right at a full 2" wider ... with a softer/different compound. With the Nitto's, I spin at WOT when I hit 2nd. With the MT's, no spin at all ... it's all go. A lot of cars using them at the track to run 9's. I like 'em a lot speaking from a purely traction standpoint.

As for the tread pattern, these MT's are brand new tires, but, they don't look much different from the other two pairs I have owned in the past ... maybe they are. And they do suck about as bad in the rain as the other other ones I've had IMHO. That's why I bought another wider pair of wheels to mount the 315's on for the track.

I'd imagine they would wear out the same. I only got only about 1,800 miles out of the last 2 pairs.

The Mickeys Look Identical To My Bfg Drag Tires..

Havent Tried Mickeys But Nitto To Bfg Is About The Same Traction But The Nittos Last alot Longer

When I Burn Up My Set Of Bfgs Ill Try A Set Of Mickeys And Then Be Able To Give A Opnion Across The Board

Track difference was remarkable tonight. Nitto 275's last month = best 60' of 2.2xx versus tonight's 60' ft of 1.707 with the 315 MT's. And I didn't even smoke the tires to heat 'em up ... just spun a couple seconds and nailed it ... half second difference.

Next time out, I'll break 11's .... got a 12.207 and only my 3rd time ever to the track. The next time after that, I'll be spraying the 150 wet shot ... should be good for low-mid 10's if track conditons and weather are just right and i learn how to drive better than Forrest Friggin' Gump.

my bfg's are 40 times better than the nittos. and the m/t's i had were even stickier. but ive been getting my bfg's for 150 so another 100 for tires that last 1 oil change wasnt worth it to me.

I heard the new Mickeys have a treadware rating of 200, up from 0, can you confirm?
