Default Moroso Update - Concrete Starting To Be Poured

We started to pour the concrete today. The office is starting to come down and the tower has been painted.

Nice...looks like its going to be a great track when its finished but can someone tell me why they dont ever schedule a Lucas Oil Points race down there? I would go. Seems like every other quarter mile track in the SE gets rotated in eventually but I have never seen a Lucas Oil race run there

Kyle, they used to run one years back but haven't for quite some time. The Citrus Nationals counts as a Winter open race for grading points but not divisional points. Maybe this will change that.

Looking good, thanks for the updates Ed!

With the tower not moving, I am guessing there is not going to be a longer shutdown area. I am guessing this will still prevent NHRA type events?

Mark,

The track was already an NHRA-licensed track before this construction, they have run the Citrus Nationals which is an NHRA winter series open event for national event grading points.

Yeah but I heard they dont run Stock Eliminator in that I heard, which is incredibly gay. Stock is the best class for car enthusiasts IMO. Especially if you get a good Mustang vs Camaro match up going

I think what RACER383 meant was the shut down might still be to short for the bigger top fuel stuff. Im not sure but they should make the track big enough for everything to race.

Atlanta doesn't have much more shut down than Moroso or pit space IMHO and they have a national event (NHRA owned track of course helps though). We'll see what comes of it....

Columbus is a NHRA owned track right? They lost their national event to a privately owned track....(Norwalk)

I thought Maple Grove is an NHRA owned track
