Lt1 with ysi or turbo for 8's
My goal is to put the car in the 8's.... My question is will a built 383 with TFS heads , single plane intake , FAST XFI , etc.... and a Vortech YSI do the job or do sell the s/c and buy what size of turbo ?
Thanks

I think the record for a YSi is 8.20ish @ 160 in a Mustang at 3300 lbs. or so. It should be doable with the right combo. I'm in the process of changing my car from a fast street car to a street/race car, my goal is somewhere in the 9's @140 + right now.

One of them should be jake with a black camaro or is he the forth anyway, he has twin turbo...problem is the lt1 goes through bearing too fast at those power levels and lt1 style head...in general... don't flow worth a ****....I know cause I also just went through it....but if you want 8's, put an auto in it and lighten it up....it doesn't require a crazy amount of power, just a car that works well at the strip.

With the YSI its possible, been done before. Those Trickflow heads can flow over 300cfm and that matched with a SuperVic and a 1600+cfm blower at the right race weight and 60foot it can be done.
The only reason there is not more 8 second LT1's is because technology kinda of sucked back in the day and its too easy to mod an LSX motor today and go that fast IMO.

roger, you have to just try it. You have everything there already, might as well go for it and at least get the suspension dialed in. I really dont think you will have a problem, and it will go mid 9s all day long at the very least. I know you will be making 850whp or so with the current pullies, that should be plenty. Hell i was making over 600whp on my 355 with bone stock heads.
Also i sent you an invoice to where to get the belts and what they are. There is one of those shops about 10 miles from you, just look it up.
