Thumbs up EPP's Cog Drive Assembly for F Body ProCharger now available!

EPP's Cog Drive Assembly for F Body ProCharger is now available! http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com...html?item=1749

* No more belt slippage! Our cog drive system will give you consistent boost, run after run.
* You will see more boost with our cog drive system, as serpentine belts usually slip to some extent.
* Belt tension does not have to be nearly as tight as it does with a serpentine belt.
* Our blower bracket reinforcements keep the bracket from flexing.
* Our system is designed for maximum impeller speed using an F-1A at 7000 rpm.
* Requires use of an ATI Performance Products harmonic balancer, the same one that is used for the 8 rib serpentine system.
* The top brace cannot be used with power steering, and we have not yet tried using our cog drive system without the top brace.
* Our cog drive system is recommended only for use with automatic transmissions. Use with manual transmissions will likely destroy the cog belt.
* Bottom radiator mount may need to be moved forward to allow added clearance, as the blower will stick further forward.
* We have extensively tested our cog drive system with our Camaro, with it's Powerglide and 5000 stall converter. We entered a wheelstand competition where we had to pedal the car, and the cog belt still looks great.

We have tested this combination our my '99 Camaro with it's powerglide and high stall, and have had no problems with the belt. We do not recommend this assembly for manual transmissions.

All of the fasteners will be stainless steel on our production kits. Our initial pricing on the cog drive kit will be $1050.00 plus shipping. The blower does not come with the kit.

More pic's can be seen at the bottom of the following link. Thanks. Bob

I know someone will ask so it might as well be me. Why shouldn't it be used on manual cars?

Sweet looking part.

Excellent price on the cog set up!

Do you think the shock from a manually shifted TH400 will be too much for the cog belt to take? This TH400 shifts hard as hell

Might be going back to a procharger this season....

Pulley would need to be built with an overrun clutch for cog belt with manual trans.

Too much shock on a cog belt will destroy the teeth. Manual transmissions are just too harsh on a cog belt.

Is it priced too low? lol

As long as you have a loose converter I don't see it being a problem. We used this set-up when we entered the wheelstand contest, and the car was extensively pedaled, then when it stood up on the rear parachute mount and rotated towards the guardrail, it was slammed down to Earth to keep it off the guardrail. The belt was just fine, and is still good to use.

Thanks Ricky. If you had a loose converter it may be okay. We haven't tried it for normal street use, it would be a good experiment to do.

Yeah, ATI Performance Products Superdampner should do the job.

The top brace would be in the way for the power steering pump. We haven't tried this set-up without the top brace, so we don't know if it would cause a problem without it. I'm sure something could be done to modify it to work with power steering, sooner or later we'll have a car in here with power steering to try to make it work.

With Hormilla Engineering's (Cartec) excellent Flip Drive for the C5/C6, all you need to do to convert it to a cog drive is to swap out the crank and blower pulleys to cog pulleys. They did a great job with their design. Bob

Talking Awesome

I just talked to Bob a couple of hours ago and ordered this awesome kit. Can't wait to get it and install it. Thank you EPP for coming up with a solution to the belt slippage problem.
