Default How much power to expect with 74mm turbo on a 408ci?

I seen a good deal on a complete ceramic coated kit with a single garrett gt4202 74mm turbo. I was wondering how much power would you get from a 408 w/ this kit. Low boost? High boost. Is the turbo to small? Any info will help.

The turbo is very small for the CI 74mm will be good for 346ci with 408ci I wouldnt go with anything smaller than 80mm some members are maxin out 76mm with 346ci with 16+psi I cant imagine 74mm with 408ci.

I'm sure lots of members will agree but I Think 91mm is the way to go with
M6 and 408ci you can get 800+rwhp on pump gas and 13-14psi.

Good luck.

You can expect it to choke that engine. Back pressure will be in the stratosphere.

Yep....that is correct. 88 is the minimum I would run. GT88 is probably the best bang for the buck unit for that size motor. GT47-88 compressor wheel in a mid-frame package.

I think of is this way . . . it's only 20 more cid than mine with a turbo that has a larger turbine snail. My backpressure is 2/1, which isn't that bad. It will be worse, but probably not 3/1 unless you try running 6500+ rpm.

Twin 70mm-74mm would rock with 408ci and the right compressor housing.
You'll never hook it on the street and might have trouble doing so at the track, but it will make mucho-power.

2 of them would work, or a pair of TC78's....easier to package.

If you put that turbo on a truck with a 408ci it could be a good tow vehicle..

Twin GT4202R 74mm turbos here and we are going 9.02 on about 14psi. Having problems with BS3 not reading boost right now. But last time we set it it was at 14psi. Tried bumping it to 17psi but I don't think the file saved before losing connection.

It is down right nasty and has ZERO LAG! Search trakday on youtube and check out a few of my videos. It's the black GTO.

you could always run( 2) 1.06 AR 35rs. at higher boost and make real nice numbers and the spool would be great. But if you have a 6.0 block might not be the best setup due to lifting a head with higher boost levels.

I think with M6 it will be a little laggy with twin 74mm right??

twin 70mm will be sick.

That's gotta be the 50th revival of a 5+ year old thread that I've seen this week.
