I don't get it?! For those of us that have the standard APS Kits: Why cant we just put a larger better turbo? like a turbonetics, or garrett or something better than these POS turbos?! |
LG is offering upgraded center carts in various sizes. He has given some prices in previous threads. |

You can't because the exhaust housings are custom made by APS in house. They have a unique bolt pattern. |

What if we were to do this sensitive procedure? is it possible to cut these bad boys off, and weld on a Tfo? haha http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/6103/manifolds2u.th.jpg |
Its very tight in their so really a much bigger turbo will likely not fit. The upgraded aps requires an msd starter and bolts to same exhaust manifolds just uses bigger inlets and bigger compressor inlet. Rated at 65 pounds per minute you would get 1300 engine hp potential. You guys think you need more than that..Think potential of two gt35R is 1500 engine hp. Much past 1000rwhp think you better start worrying about a lot of other things..totally built transmissions, LSX block and how the hell you are going to hook up that level of power. I think the LG solutions sound more than fine and will work no problem. And he has 60, 65 and he said the bigger ones as well more than fine. Ball bearing are a bit better, they can keep up the boost a bit better on shifts on manual cars and spool a bit faster but I can tell you on any engine 402 and up you will not be worried about spool up even with 65 lb /min turbos . You will be worried about keeping the damn shiny side up! Even 650rwhp is more than most of you guys including me will ever want or need on the street. On the track well a bit more power is ok to a point. I have seen high power tt cars smoke em all the way down the track. Impressive and scary, great mph but crappy et. And you need a lot of special equipment including medicals to go under 10 at nhra tracks. Anyway LG has solutions already ,I will likely go to that next season if current turbos don't work out for me. Would throw some in this season but just too broke from buying fuel system, new rear end and planned stage 5 flt trans. |
^^^ I totally agree with what your saying, on everything! The thing is I was asking is, "what if?" So even the upgraded center carts from LG don't have ball bearings? |
Hmmm, I will be talking to LG when it comes time to rebuild my set-up. |
No LG said not ball bearing. Maybe he will offer some in the future though. |
ahh the joys of going turbo...might as well get use to this type of stuff:D |
