Default Vortech T-trim can not build boost 2004 gto

I have installed a complete system with intercooler, T-trim vortech, 60# injectors, 255lph pump, boost a pump, etc and with vortech brackets and pulley setup I can not build more then 4#'s of boost on my 2004 gto 5.7 ls1. I have tried manually locking tensioner so I am fairly confident I do not have belt slippage, I have tried gaterback and gates belts. Not sure where I could be losing boost. any ideas?

Are you running a 6-rib? And you need to check everything to make sure you don't have a leak somewhere. Almost assuredly it is belt slip. You should be able to find fine black dust somewhere behind the blower. Also make sure your head unit is the right one for spinning the direction you want - I saw one guy by a used setup with a counter-clockwise head unit and it took him a while to figure why it sucked.

The Vortechs generally have a bung built into the outlet of the blower that you could screw a pressure gauge with a long hose into. Then you could tape it to the hood and have someone watch it while you test, to see what kind of boost you see at the head unit.

Check your connections on your piping.

talking to a tuner shop in the area they feel I might need to increase my inlet size to 4" from the current 3". They claim t-trims do not pull air in as easily as s-trims

That will limit you but that is not the cause of your current low boost. T-trims pull air in just as easily as S-trims but want more of it. Check the other stuff first or you will change the inlet piping without knowing how much benefit it really is for you. Do that mod after you find your problem - you should be at 8-10 no problem even with that inlet.

You can test the inlet size theory easily by removing what you have there now and running open for a few minutes, unless you have a MAF before the blower.

Make sure you have direct vacuum (not ported) to the bypass valve. It should have vacuum at idle and zero at WOT.

You probably already checked this but check that tensioner and tighten the belt a little.

OP, you need to do this. I had a T-trim and it would only make 3#. I removed the intake piping and it went to 14#. I had to make a 4" pipe for it.

Just run it with no piping and make a w.o.t run, if your boost comes up, voila there's your problem.

My hunch is its something else but you won't know till you try. It could be your bypass bleeding boost to atmosphere.

Its probably something really easy.

The tightest bends available are known as donuts. You can get them in many sizes including 4", mostly mild steel unless you want to pay for $tainle$$ $teel ones. I've never found a 4" aluminum one either. You can cut them to fit.

Can you post a picture of your setup and how much room you have to work with?
