Default Running 9's vid within..60ft sucks though

Is there anyway to build good boost off the line with just the Transbrake? Or do you guys think I need to invest in a 2-step?

Here's my timeslip...was reading the logs and I can see that I wasn't at 100% WOT at any time during the run. At times I was 80%. I lifted towards the end also. This was at 16PSI not my normal 20PSI. I had too much pump gas in the tank to push it to 20PSI.

I have two passes on the video below.

It's an LQ4 truck block 6.0L with .02 over. Also slight stroker crank. 408CI total.
Patriot heads CNC'd nothing special. LS6 intake.

Twin PT-67's. I"m not sure what size each downpipe is to be honest. I tried a single setup before and found it to choke the motor with backpressure. Had to go twins to keep up the flow. Truck manifolds turned backwards.

Here's a picture of it:

Also this picture of the downpipes:

117mph in the 1/8th but only 138mph in the 1/4? Did you let off? Are you blowing through the converter? That's a very small MPH gain out the back.

I definitely lifted. This is the first time I'm in a car that's trapping this speed. I saw the end of the track out there and just let off. I'm pressing the brakes pretty damned hard to make the turn and it's just in my mind. Getting used to it though. I need to get about 10 more runs in and I think I'll keep my foot in it. My logs tell me that I'm subconsiously not flooring the car the whole way. Pretty sad..LOL...

Charlie

congrats on getting out and getting some good results

The car will fly once you leave with boost and run it out the back.

did you weight it? I'm guessing 3800# w/ driver

Do you have a build thread anywhere? Im guessing that's a DIY setup? I would be really interested in seeing more info on how it all went together!

My guess is 3500 with no driver and with my 285lb fatazz in it I'd say around 3800lbs like you think. I'll get it weighed to make sure.

It's a custom build from Speed Inc. Most everything was done with the Speed Inc crews advice and expertise. The 408CI motor did like more flow than we all expected so my original single turbo setup was ditched for a twin. That woke up everything.

I ditched the 6-speed for a TH400 with transbrake. We dynoed 882RWHP through the TH400 at 19PSI I believe. Not sure what the crank HP would be but I'm guessing I'm losing 100RWHP through the TH400 alone.

The car should run 8's. Build a little boost on the foot brake and let it push you into the second bulb, let go and put it to the floor! It will run the number, just get a little seat time and you will be fine.

That sounds like a plan. Something to play with for sure. Any advice on the fluids in my TH400? It's about time to change the fluid again.

Awesome car! That's a lot of power to handle so don't feel bad about letting out early. I'm going to be in the same boat my first couple times out with my new set-up. I remember the first time I took mine out to Byron with 680rwhp and I couldn't stop in time for the turn, scared the **** out of me and then I looked like an idiot turning around at the very end, lol. I'm glad they have the extra strech though or that would have been bad. I never did that again and got used to it quick. Now I took another jump and I'm close to your power level. I gotta tell you, I'm a little scared to go down the track with it. I'll probably do the same thing and just let out early until I feel comfortable. Better safe than sorry, I bet you'll get it down in no time.
I hope to see you at Byron sometime.

to get used to the car make some 8th mile hits till you get your 60 and stuff where you need it. the 8th mile is the most important part! the 2nd half is boring i reach for a sandwich usually.

Sure you can build enough on the t-brake to flip over

I would install a 2-step. Way easier and much more consistent/tuneable.
