Can't go WOT

Something is wrong here, this thing idles like a champ and I can drive around town all day long, but I can't go to wot. There's plenty of fuel, 62psi, 20% duty cycle on the 79lb injectors, and yet it won't rev past 5000 rpm. Its like it running out of fuel. Anybody have any idea what this could be. I have a brand new pt88, racetronix 79lb injectors, twin 255 walbros, speed inc fuel rails, -8 feed and cross over, ar3934 race plugs and msd wires. Everything looks good in the tune, but for some odd reason the car won't go past 5000 rpm. If I mash it from a stand still it just falls on its face. What's really going on here?? It won't take any boost at all. http://images.ibsrv.net/ibsrv/res/sr...n_confused.gif

What is the tune..hptuners? If its that you can post file and can look it over. I was having some problems on mine but pretty sure it was super low timing. Upped timing here and there and it seems better. It was noticeable when floored the throttle.

Tune is here, was having some problems with it before, got them fixed and now this.

It should be well over 20% duty at 5k rpm. Seems as though you are not commanding enough fuel.

Tried case relearn, and nothing...

Here's the log file, take a look.. pay close attention to the runs over 4000 rpm.

Commanding 11.3 at WOT

Also note the hp tuners reads 1 point hight then my wideband, so subtract 1 from all wbo2 figures.

Why do you have such a strange non boost pe table? You have like 14.7 in there at idle and just all over the place. This is a wot but non boost table. Usually people simple set it to like 12.8 across the board.
Also my car was acting kind of weird when punched it wot and think timing was too low.I cranked it up a bit maybe you can go like 18 being careful to watch knock. Think too low causes problems. Too high of course can also cause problems.

Do you not have a boost referenced reg.if you do you feed in a constant for the injectors not your current table. that is for non boost referenced. With your hardware would think you have boost referenced reg.

I have a boost referenced fuel regulator, I changed the pe table to start at 11.9 and end at 11.3 and still no change. Boost enrichment is 11.3 across the board, and still no dice. How should I change the IFR table across the board is there a write up on this somewhere?

I tried to open your file, but I guess you have the beta version or something. For the boost referenced regulator, you need your IFR values the same. Whatever is in the 0kpa cell, transfer it across, and the same goes for the offset values.

I found a good little write up here, I'll give it a try, thanks..

I had the same issue about not being able to go in the upper rpm's. My VE table was off and my plugs were gapped at .038. I tightened them up to .027 and changed the tune and everything was good.

MY99TAWS6 Jun 27, 2009 08:47 PM

Your off boost pe table is supposed to be like 12.8 across the board. Your boost pe table is the one that should be like 11.0 across the board or you can have bit different to torque peak and after torque peak. But that off boost wot PE table shouldn't be 11s.

I had no trouble getting your tune to load but having trouble getting logs to run.

As said if you have boost referenced reg set those injector values same across the table.Figure out flow for your 62psi fuel pressure.Specs on racetronix site.

So curious you didn't change anything else on the injectors and they idle great.what is afr at idle. My 60s seem to be running rich at idle or my wideband is pooched maybe. the sensor not the controller.

Idles like a champ, and runs great up till about 4500 rpm. Even after all these changes its doing the same thing. Something is definately still screwed up, I just can't seem to find it.

Check out this chart, notice how the map readings start to fall even though rpm and tps are still high.

9sectruck Jun 28, 2009 12:47 AM

what are your plugs and spark gap? sounds like you are blowing out your spark?

98Camarod Jun 28, 2009 06:44 AM

If you look at both of WOT on the screen shot, they almost do the same exact thing. IMO it's in the tune.

MY99TAWS6 Jun 28, 2009 08:27 AM

So how about posting the corrected tune file now..
