Lifters.... pushrods..... ARP head studs..... oil pump..... timing chain.... there is a lot to add to the list. With my 402 build even after listing out every possible thing it still cost me about an $500ish in little things.

You can go way cheaper with a 370 iron and make just as much power. You will save on the crank, maching, disassembly, hottank, hone and other things. A lq9 from sdpc will run u 800 and some change rods and pistonswill be around 500-700 range in all if you shop you could save 2k on the build. There are numerous 370 in the 800 hp range. Hell my motor is a lq9 punch out lol but i spent 8k on it because i wanted some serious ****.

I would swap out the K1 parts for Callies Compstar, much better quality in my opinion. Bob

Well you can cut costs by doing everything minus the machine work yourself that is if you have the tools and the knowledge. And as for parts, go with the stuff you know works, and look around for deals.

I'd also recommend compstar. Also, have you looked into what a complete assembled shortblock would cost from TSP?

Erik at HKE quoted me a pretty darn good price for an ironblock 370 shortblock. I would contact him. It was way less than what you posted.

Id be at like 3400 buyin the assembly from tsp and having the machine shop do the work if I can get them to budge a little. The tsp assembled are 3700 plus shipping.

Jeremy tuned mine when I was in Vegas, now Im living in FL. Ended up having machine shop start work.. They saved me a few bucks and Im looking at ordering the Callies crank and rods. Total Seal napier rings and going from there. Machine shop/ builder will take care of the bearings. And got a good lead on a tuner.. I tried to get you to do some work on my car John but you were a busy man.. And from what I hear about your building skills I would raise your price too. Im just on my own in a new town and a forged 383 for about $3400 doesnt sound to bad and I think it will work well with the 67 turbo
