finally have dyno numbers for the ebay "ptk" turbo kit

finally got it on the dyno.. car put down 473rwhp and 509rwt on 9#'s with a mp t70 with a .96 a/r and an slp loudmouth exhaust and THATS IT! no cam no heads stock intake.. and that was on a mustang dyno! so needless to say im pretty friggin happy!! and a big thanks to don at slowhawk performance for tuning the car and hittting me up with some good numbers!

2003cobraH/C 08-06-2009 11:47 PM

wow good numbers for that kit, and on a mustang dyno!!!

Fb0dy0nly 08-06-2009 11:55 PM

I bet if you took off those big heavy z06 wheels, you would get even more out of her....not to mention at least an LS6 intake if you dont have that.

Nice job, We need video!

lemons12 08-06-2009 11:57 PM

how are you getting your car to run with no heads, cam, intake.. i have tried this before and it didnt turn out so good..

anyways, nice numbers! what did you end up spending? and how much fabbing was required?
was hot/cold side everything there?

9secondsflat 08-07-2009 04:52 AM

what factory wheels would be lighter then the z06??

If they are factory they should be pretty light. I know the C5 Z06 wheels are real light. A lot of guys run the replica stuff and it's heavy as heck.

Good show, what year is your car? Mileage too please.

black01_WS6 08-07-2009 08:41 AM

nice #'s. would you do another one? or did you have to replace a lot of things like people keep telling me.

This looks like a decent kit if you want to keep lower boost levels, don't know how it would perform around 15-18psi.

Dean95z28 08-07-2009 10:19 AM

Good #'s was this thru a 4l60 or a 6 speed? My car made 478/474 on 8.5 lbs thru a th400 with this same kit. That thing should run good at the track. Congrats.

vogun16 08-07-2009 05:39 PM

6 speed car with replica z06 wheels and its a 98 car with about 70k on it and i rebiult it about a year and a half ago and i have no idea how it ran that good with stock heades cam and intake but im pretty happy about it!!! haha and ya i would do it again just because i know how to do it, but wile i was putting in the kit there was alot of f bomb and wants to just give up and sell it but now im happy! oh ya and now im gunna need a clutch because mine starts slipping up top

Nice numbers.

sorry to hijack...

I hope this is not against forum rules, but:

If anyone is looking for a kit, I'll sell mine for $400.00 shipped. I bought the kit for 575+freight, and decided to go with a one-off front mount setup that I'm in the middle of fabbing. Brand new, never installed. The kit did not ship with any clamps, so that's the way I'm selling it.

I'll include Spohn solid mounts for $70 more..only bolted up for mock-up. I ended up ordering a tubular k member from BMR.

Obviously, no turbo or cold-side piping.

Sweet numbers bro! So was the kit a pretty straight forward install or did you have to replace some of the parts in the kit or add parts to make it work? And if you dont mind me asking your approximate total build cost, ballpark figure...

_916ls1z28_ 08-07-2009 06:31 PM

nice numbers, im getting the mpt-70 soon

MUSTANGBRKR02 08-07-2009 07:34 PM

Johnv 08-08-2009 03:48 PM

one more psi and you'll crack 500 rwhp:cheers:

vogun16 08-08-2009 05:54 PM

1 mores psi and ill probably blow up! lol stock internals on a 98 motor.. i guess the 98s blocks are weaker then the other year ls1s.. its ok. if i though it on a dynojet ill see over 500rwhp lol

My 98 motor is still kicking with 84k, so don't jinx us
