BOV has nothing to do with regulating boost to make it overboost.

I always thought that some guys run a BOV as a safty feature just incase of a stuck wastegate or over boost condition so as not to damage the engine or blow a head gasket ???Thats why you can buy predetermined (higher springs) for them to change out, just above your current boost setting.Lets say your running 10PSI and wanted a safty in there for your build, youde put 12 PSi springs in there I know ive heard of guys doing this !

The different springs are for different manifold VACUUM levels, not boost pressures. Boost holds the bov shut until it is removed, like when the throttle is lifted, then it pops off.
Maybe if you never attached the reference line to the top of the bov, but the springs are very light for fast response in a bov, nothing like a wastegate.

They have a guide on their website. Just reference your vacuum. If you run a blower use the 3psi spring.
