Default Traded Victor jr for Fast. Good decision?

Fast 90 or Victor Jr and 4150 on fun 347 street car?

I currently am running an Edelbrock 4150 TB and ported victor jr on a 346 with ported 243's and a mid size 232/240 cam N/A. I'm switching to a smaller custom patrick g F/I cam this december when i put in the rods and pistons and maybe a girdle (non competition road racing, just some track days. 20 mins) supporting two 2871's hanging off truck manifolds.

My eventual goals for this spring are under 15 psi on the street. 650-700 rwhp and high 9's @ 2800 lbs. @ 4500 ft elevation.

For a fun street car what would you do? Fast and stock ported tb or Victor Jr. and 4150 tb with a carb hat? I did agree to ship monday. I just want to know if i made a stupid trade. I'll only be running it N/A for the next few months.

Mods in sig.

Thanks, Russ

I'm no expert but I think the vic jr and the 4150 would have been better for FI. The carb style flows more air and has better distribution to each cylinder than the fast. The fast will probably be better on the N/A 346 because the vic jr has a higher rpm power range and kills low end torque but on a FI setup that will create torque with boost the vic might have been better.

in this thread these guys are pretty much asking the same thing and they say that the 4150 with boost is a good combo.

I've been told under 15-17 psi the fast will work great, but for big boost the victor is worth going for. Any truth to this? Or is this more of a air/fuel distribution problem? Thanks

The FAST combo will make more average power and way more down low. If you are only going to run 15-17 psi, take the FAST apart, take all the rubber seals out and epoxy the thing back together.

I appreciate the info, i was curious how the 3 piece fast worked with boost...I love Ls1tech.

Would the fast also produce better spool up time aka throttle response because of the increased low rpm intake air velocity? This is a good enough reason to swap for me.

I love how there's an "ONLY" before 15-17 psi That's a lot of F'ing power on the street

I am prety sure I have heard of other cars running 20+ psi on the fast without any problems.

I think if i would've decided to go all out texas mile style, the victor would've made sense on a 347...but on a street car that see's 50% aggressive street, 50% WOT driving, wouldn't the fast make more sense even with F/I? I know i wasn't limiting myself with the Victor/4150, just don't think it was the ideal intake for my goals, BUT i'm not the expert. That's why i ask you

SOo, what do you guys think? Fast or Victor Jr for a fun street beast?

Or just fit an LS6 intake.
