i ran 135mph at around 3700lbs race weight so that should be around 700rwhp.
stock block bored .005 over to clean it up with JE flat top pistons and eagle rods., arp rod bolts, spinning it to around 7000rpm, with a PTE88 turbo.
317 heads, home ported, a 224/224-114 cam at around 8.9:1 CR.

he's talking about a stock cubed block, not stock bottom end i presume.
but a built 356/347 can last quite long at that power level

its been my understanding that the block and crank will take what you can throw at it. its the rods, pistons, rings, etc. that need to be pepped up. weisco, arp, eagle, diamond, etc.

700rwhp shouldn't be a problem on a 346ci/turbo.I'd go 9-1 comp and shoot for 12-14lbs of boost for the #.

I made 800 rwhp with my stock bottom end 5.7 and a set of stock truck heads. A good tune, and good fuel can keep a stock motor together not to mention a built one. A motor with rods and pistons alone should be reliable for a very long time if everything else is right.
