Looking for big power maybe 1000rwhp, maybe I don't know Alright, looking to change my setup a little this winter. My goal is 1000-1300whp. What would be a good motor to build for that power level, I will not have the money for an lsx yet. Will a built lq9 work? Looking at an s91 for the turbo. Need some engine ideas. |
Good luck to you. If you don't have the budget for an LSX, you don't have the budget to try and hit 1300! |
hahaha my thoughts exactly |
Ya and alot of people said I couldn't put down 700whp on a stock ls1 but I did! :) |
Well let's just say 1000whp then. Lq9? |
lq9...etp heads....good tune/fuel let it eat |
What are some good rods to use? |
your probably looking at 20k easy. i would go with a 370 and something like an 85 or 88. |
just curious, what are you planning on doing with 1300rwhp? im building a LQ motor that technically should handle that, but the most id ever run would probably be in the 800's even that is stupid fast. really. I drove a 900rwhp sandrail and its just too damn fast. haha seriously |
Look up veee8. He made 1000rwhp with a 370 iirc.. |
Guys are making well over 1000rwhp with LS2 blocks. Dont let the nay sayers sway your goals. Look up FireBalls build. Nuff Said. |

1000 is easy and can be done "relatively" cheap. Past that and you start needing some higher priced parts to make it live. Also, you can't exactly compare Fireball's setup to anything that will be street driven. Aluminum rods are not street friendly :) His build may be "budget" compared to something like Phil's, but it isn't an off the shelf setup. |

I was probably making 1400ish RWHP this year and finally found the limit of an OEM LS2 block (we think we cracked a sleeve)...though I won't know for certain until Saturday when I take the motor back to Shawn... |
So what's better to use? Lq9 or ls2? What internals will hold up to 1000whp? I am in nmca true street |

Rods I use Callies H-beams but that was at only 722 RWHP.... |
