^^^ every time you install a new set of heads it is a good idea to measure for push rod length. there are allot of different factors that can change the push rod length. head gasket, if the heads have been milled, cam. so just play it safe and measure the push rod length

well my question is this..would stock unmilled 317s(using the same mls gasket) use the same rod as stock unmilled 243s?

what pushrods you have now ? 7.4 ?

7.4 would be my best bet. but you should still check with a pushrod length checker
