Question Ok to add 2 gallons of Sunoco leaded 110 to tank for race day????

*put this in this forum because Im considering this for the amount of boost Im running*

I have access to 110 leaded, going racing on Saturday. Details... 13-14psi, stock pistons/bottom end, 6.0L heads.... 620rwhp.

I just, as in within the last 30 miles, installed brand new Bosch O2s before I took it to be tuned. My tuner said it wouldnt be a bad idea to splash the tank with a couple gallons of race fuel before hitting the track. I have access to 110 right now.... or Ill have to hunt for a supplier of unleaded race gas.

Considering I dont have cats, new O2s, and running a decent amount of boost.... would it be ok to splash the tank with a couple gallons? Or should I scratch that and look for a unleaded race gas supplier?

Thanks in advance.

FWIW I did a search.. I found a bunch of threads where people were told not to run a WHOLE tank of leaded but not much about just mixing a couple gallons.

if you're tuned for 91 .. run 91 the 110 will make your car slower

I would try to find unleaded fuel, but if you have a warranty on the new sensors going back for new sensors could be easier then finding unleaded fuel. in my experience a could of gallons to half tank or better didn't hurt anything.

I used some leaded fuel in mine, probably 2 gallons on top of 5 gallons of 91 and my 02's went bad also.

e85, its 105 octane, unleaded. wont hurt your o2s, but youll need a tune, why dont you have your tuner retune it for it, then you can have big boost and be really safe...

Thanks guys.... I found a place on the way to the track with VP 100 on the pump. Im just gonna add a couple gallons of that to the tank on the way.

why dont you have your tuner retune it for it, then you can have big boost and be really safe...
Its more of a street driven car.... Id rather have it tuned for the 91 and add 100 to it when heading to the track then have it tuned for 100 and have to run that all the time.

The only reason Im adding the couple gallons is just for a buffer... nothing else. Just a little bump in octane just incase. Im not trying to add any power and dont care if I lose a few hp by doing it... just me being paranoid.
