ATI balancer acts like it's installed to far? So I finally got around to firing my car up. After I cut it off I went and looked that blower belt to make sure everything was good to go. Well the blower belt is fine. But the accesory belt was walked foward on the bottom of the pulley. By like 1 rib. That would mean it's installed to far? I don't see how that's possible, but if it is what can I do to fix this? Has anyone ever run into this problem? |
shouldnt be possible unless the balancer was machined wrong, i would check the rest of the stuff maybe someone else has seen it and will chime in |
Yeah I don't see how it's possible either. But I haven't had any of the other pulleys off. |
you sure you dont have a Vette version ? I had this issue with an ati damper when i purchased i totally forgot the vette and ls1 are diff. the vette version sits closer to the block |
I thought that to, but aren't the vette balancers an 8 rib design? This one is 6 rib... |

Is there any way to make absolutely sure it's a vette pulley? I guess it's got to be. I just got done straighting it out. Then fired it up and ran it for a second. Checked, and sure enough it jumped one rib towards the front of the car! God damn this stupid shit is so aggrevating. Now I get to spend another $450 and hope to god I can sell this vette pulley. |

The first one is looking at it from the drivers side, the second, from the passenger side. As you can see, the blower blet looks to be lined up almost perfect. |
