Procharger and MS4

Im not really planing on puting a blower on the car, would like to one day..but Iv got the MS4 Cam and love the way it sounds and runs. Someone explain this to me.

To gain most power yes Id proably change cams but for my own piece of mine..

A lot of guys run a little bit of nitrous with this cam and make good numbers and the track shows it. Now Iv been told this cam sucks for a F/I application!!

Now how is it any different for a procharger or similar from Nitrous??

I understand a little about lsas and how that affects a cam for nitrous and other power adders but still not getting it..

I would throw a blower on it and see, why not? The thing with forced induction cams is you dont want to much overlap because it will bleed of boost, which you dont want.

thats were Im a little lost on the over lap and how that bleeds off..

It bleeds off because the exhaust and intake valve are open at the same time. Pressure will find the lowest resistance to equalize itself and come to an equilibrium.

With nitrous, some of the nitrous will go out the exhaust valve, when the intake is opening as it will follow the flow.

With a blower or turbo app you usually want a cam with a LSA in the range of aleast 114 or greater to optimize the boost pressure. The lower the LSA, the longer both the intake and exhaust valves are open together, therefore letting the boost pressure escape. You can always pulley the blower to over come the bleed off but you start to lose thermal effiency. I've heard of people running 112's or so for boost but its not the best and doesnt utalize the boost pressure. Get a different cam. Look up the EPP cam, it sounds bad ass for a FI cam which are usually conservative.

i had a 112 on my blower set-up an did pretty good

My last cam was a 112 as well. I'm just saying theres better options out there lol

Kool Thanks! Its starting to make more sence! If I would have got more back from taxes I would have done something to make it whine!! I got a 12 bolt and new Bogarts insted..
