how much boost can 6.0 stock handle?
#7
I made 520 rwhp with just under 8 psi through a 4L80 and 577 rwhp with just over 10 psi. Last fall I ran 15 psi for my last outing at the track before going with good pistons, rods etc over this winter. 500 rwhp is like falling out of bed these days.
The above was on a stock 06' LQ4 with a small cam. The only other upgrades to the engine were pushrods and valve springs.

Im sure Hellbents from Baker Engineering will be chiming in here soon, but they have ran a 6.0 to 825 rwhp with just a cam change, stock longblock.
500rwhp is easily attainable these days with minimal boost.
I spec'd a combo for my buddy and he has an lq4 with the EPP cam and 76mm turbo and he put down 470 rwhp thru a 6spd and 9 inch on 5psi of boost.
98z28cobrakiller had a stock lq9 that he ran 10.08 in his camaro with.

camaroandreas made over 80 passes at 1360fwhp on a stock 6.0 with a head sealing technique called pyramid ringing. It's similar to O-rining, but uses metal 3 sided rings with the pointed sharp side facing the head. The rings cuts a small groove into the head when the head is installed. Other than that the long block was 100% stock.
