Yes, it's easier on the crank and the blower. Procharger will allow you to "overspin" their units up to a point with the gear drive due to the decreased bearing sideload from a belt drive. The geardrives are nice but they cost an arm and a leg ~$3500. If my 50mm cog setup gives me longevity problems down the road, I'll be picking one of these up.

I'm sure it would be a lot easier just to make a brace from crank to blower

Great information in this thread.. thank you guys.

Atomic you did 1132rwhp on the compstar crank thats insane and speaks for callies. Thats is their budget line haha 1132 through a automatic! Im just in shock and the power these cars can make. Hopefully the dragonslayer will due its duties for me at 1000+ pump gas 93 no meth and a good gas big boost tune with the proper boost controller (gear specific).

The easiest fix for this supercharger problem is a turbo, lol. Sorry someone had to say it.

Dude, just because Tony is trying to research a problem on his own doesn't mean he's putting fault on you guys. He didn't even mention the name of your shop. Ever heard of a second opinion? Geez...

How do you set the belt tension on your setup? Spring loaded tensioner, or a rigid tensioner like a typical 8-71 GMC with gilmer belt?

People are making 1000 wheel all day with stock crank. So how much power is the compstar rated?
