2 step retard question My turbo sits where my battery used to be. Would retarding the timing for drag racing work with how far my turbo sits? |

it will be fine and my car did not seem to like any retard |
With the distance of the turbo from the exhaust manifold would the ignition of fuel being dropped into the manifold spool the turbo as far as it is? The reason I ask is I want to get a two step and would like the LPE if I can take advantage of retarding timing to build boost off the line. If my turbo distance is an issue than I'll get the MSD unit. |

It would be useful for people who post these questions / post in these threads to specify the type of transmission they are using. The type of transmission changes what is needed in order to build boost. Auto = advanced timing leaner mixture Stick = retarded timing richer mixture (ignites mixture in exhaust) If you have an auto trans with a converter that is too tight, a 2 step will not be of much help in building boost. I've seen it posted many times and experienced it myself. |
ive made 3psi at the line with a m6 at 4500rpm crs has 3.42 gaer and still cut 1.67 60 foot. car is 3700lbs with me in it. so if you have a m6 car id go to 5k or 5500prm to start off. |
