Exclamation 427 LSX six bolt, head gasket issues?

Hello everybody. I have a fully forged 427 ci GMPP LSX race block, 4.125” bore, 4” stroke, around 9.5:1 compression ratio. I will be using ETP LS7 250cc SIX BOLT cylinder heads with the ARP 2000 six bolt head stud kit with a Cometic MLS or GM MLS six bolt head gaskets. I will be using a single T6 turbo… big, but final size undecided yet. Given that everything holds together in the rotating assembly (and it should) and the tune is good with 116 race fuel, about what horsepower level should pushing water and popping head gaskets be a concern? The block and heads are not o-ringed or anything like that, but it is utilizing the six bolt head studded design. Thanks

We haven't pushed any coolant yet on LS2Formulas car. That's 7.9 @ 180mph and 3600# race weight. 24-25 psi so far. You'll need alot of supporting mods to make that kind of power though.

What head gasket s would you reccommend for a lsx 6 bolt head? I just pushed out the mls gaskets but cant tell what brand they are. I noticed the gasket bore is 4.185 but the engine bore is 4.00. Im running tfs 235 heads, do you think these are too large of gasket? I have run about 25psi boost when this happened.

that's alot of power on a 4 bolt head with mls gaskets. We've had the best luck with the gm ls3 head gaskets on a 4.00 bore.Just make sure the combustion chamber in the head will seal up with those.
