Default What heads are good for a 390ci turbo motor

AES racing 390ci short block
Fast 102/102
91mm turbo
Epp blower cam

What heads should I get for my short block? I need something cheap $1400 bucks or cheaper....so I was looking at some Patriot heads (part number 2019)

specs on these heads are:

Combustion Chamber: 72cc
Intake Runner: 227cc
Exhaust Runner: 70cc
Intake Valve: 2.08"
Exhaust Valve: 1.60"
Max. Valve Spring Lift: 0.650"
Spring Pressure Closed: 135 lbs. @ 1.800"
Spring Pressure Open: 375 lbs. @ 1.090"
Retainer Material: Titanium
Valve Seal Material: Viton
Valve Guide Material: Manganese Bronze
Valve Job: 5-angle

Will these heads work good with my setup? Any info will be greatly appreciated...thanks

Is that a stock casting? If so, no good. If it's got a thick deck and flows well, it'll work. Your biggest problem at this point will be keeping the heads on at high boost levels.

There are proven ways around the heads sealing other than 6 bolt blocks. Just gotta pay to have the work done.

I feel like there is more and more of this stuff popping up here lately.

OP, Id suggest you save some loot and get a set of aftermarket heads.

Like everyone else, why skimp on one of the most important parts. Get a good set of AFR,Mast,ET heads and be done with it. I did see a set of ET 245s for sale for 1700 in the last 2 weeks. I'd jump on those long before a set of patriots.

I saw a set of AFR 225's for 1600 in the classifieds. Those would work well on there.

So you recommend a 5/8" thick deck for high boost applications?

i would just get some l92's and have them ported. stock castings work fine for people i know in my area. dudeman ran 18+ lbs of boost.. possibly 20+lbs.. not exactly sure, but i know he has gone over 18-19 on STOCK 317 heads, with ls3 gasket an EBAY head studs and isnt pushing any water
