Default Are all wastegate springs created equal? Pics>

Earlier this week I ordered a pair of Tial 1 BAR wastegate springs for my F38 wastegates. They came from the same company this way. As you can see in the pictures, they are quite different. The spring on the right is taller, while the material on the left spring is appriximately .020" thicker and has one more coil than the other. They are both "blue", however. (Blue = 1Bar)

Has anyone had experience with this? Do other companies make knockoff versions of wastegate springs?
And even if they are both rated at 1 bar, do you think it's safe to run both of these in a Twin Turbo configuration? My gut says no, but I wanted to check with you guys first. Thanks

dan, i cry a little bit everytime i see your engine bay. ARG. LOL

i also had two 7# springs that were different from one another, although, i cant attest to which was more accurate, because i could only run one at a time.

but, i have seen this before.

I would try and measure how much pressure it takes to crack each one open equally in the wastegate off the car, that should tell you if the springs are in the ball park of eachother.

Your wastegates should be on a controller if you want true boost control. I don't think any wastegate spring is 100% accurate.

they might be from a different coil but there are different ways to get a spring to hit the right rate. you might try weighting them to see if they compress under the same amount of weight.

I've got at least 5 springs from Tial that match the coils on the left side. I wonder if the spring on the right is designed for their new series of gates, they do use different diameter springs but have the same rate per inch.

Just measure the spring coefficient. if they are the same you are good.
