Which Procharger is good for 35 PSI?
I had a buddy who called me this morning. He found a complete procharger kit for $1500 bucks. The kit was put on a car for R&D and is complete with all brackets etc. It has the dual large intercoolers.
I don't know a lot about procharger models, but he said it was the one good for 35 lb of boost??
Anyone know which model this would be?
How will this do on a stock LS1 bottom end with normal bolt ons?
I'm running 11.90 @ 114 now with a 1.6x 60' on pump gas .

HAHA! I know better than to run more than 10lbs on a stock ls1.. just wondering that model this would be..
I had a 370 iron motor planned for a 80mm turbo and it was REAL efficient. Now I need to figure this out for the procharger and plan the new longblock.
But for now, I'm going to put it on the car and turn the boost way down. AND, take off all the nitrous.

He is on a plane right now, so I can't call and ask him what model till this afternoon.
I was in the process of building a 370 iron motor with a 80mm precision but came across this deal today, so change of plans.
This is a race car that I will drive to the track on low boost and turn it up when I get there until it gets too crazy and has to be trailered.
I love turbos, but can't pass this one up for the money.

Thats cool though. Sounds like it will support plenty down the road when I want to turn it up with a new bottom end and fuel mods.
From what I hear, it won't be that hard to install. I'm getting real excited now.
I have a super street fighter 4l60 and will send the TCI 3000 convertor off the PTC for the procharger setup if it needs to be changed.
I have a TSP .581 .224 .224 cam in it now so I need to verify it will done fine with the procharger but I'm sure it will, just may not be the best choice. But for 8-10lbs I'm sure my current NA setup will be fine.
Just have to wait and see if this comes with injectors and fuel pump etc..

There's no way you can narrow down what blower your buddy has by how much boost it makes on some random engine in some random car. You could put a P1SC on a Yugo and make 35 psi, or you could put an F3R139 on a BBC and make 10 - 40 psi. You'd be more likely to get a good answer if we at least knew what engine and or car the blower is on.

Thanks man.. I was looking on their site but didn't see the max boost. I'm sure its the D1SC.
I dont think you can spin a D1SC hard enough to make 35lbs, if you did you most likely would run into belt slip

I wouldn't send a lawnmower to PTC! Get something from Yank or get Circle D to spec you something

I'm not saying I will run 35lbs.. I'm saying that I just got a hell of a deal on a complete procharger kit, and I'm trying to do some research to find out what model it may be.

So you know you can't get to the track and just turn up the boost on a procharger setup. You would have to change to a smaller size head unit pulley. If you are that worried about boost on the street you can take the belt off and install it when you get to the track.

The max boost shown for the P-1SC-1 and D-1SC in the above chart is 32 psi. What I can tell you is that on an SLP 408 with their cam and AFR 225 heads, and a large air filter, the max boost I saw using a D-1SC was 16 psi. This was at 800 ft in elevation. Bob
How much boost the blower can produce depends on many variables.
* Cubic inch. The larger the engine the less boost it will make with a supercharger.
* Headers and exhaust. A better flowing system will produce less boost, requires a smaller pulley to regain the loss in boost. Ultimately though, more power will be gained.
* Camshaft and heads. A camshaft with some overlap will leak out some boost through the valves. Better flowing heads react a lot like a better flowing exhaust system.
* Altitude. Elevation plays a big part in how much boost is produced. Those people living in the higher elevations have to spin the blower harder to see boost.
* Condition of engine. An engine with real good sealing rings will ultimately produce more boost than one with worn rings.
* Rpm. An engine that is spun up higher in the rpm range will normally produce more boost.
