Rear-end for turbo, s/c cars (kinda relevant to FI section I think)
Okay 1st the reason on why I am putting this in here is because not everyone in this section looks in the gears/axels section and this is dealing with FI cars only. But I wanted to know what rearends and rwhp/tq people are running also if it's a summer car, DD or drag car oh and let's not forget what FI are you running. I am going to be due for an upgrade and pretty much all my searches turned up people that are N/A or under the 5-600rwhp mark. I would like to know whats working for FI cars before I jump out there and spend $4 grand for one. Thanks

MWC for sure.... no ifs ands or butts.... I wore out the good old 10 bolt and upraded with all the options for 3K.... added on chromoly DS.... for a little over 3k shipped. The options add up like billet pinion yoke and such... The only decision is MWC for sure though...............

I guess I should ask what transmission you're using also. I would like to know whats working for FI cars before I jump out there and spend $4 grand for one.

My rear end = stock GM 10 bolt with Micronited (spelling?; i.e. - Micro-polished) Ring and Pinion gears, with Strange Axles, a HD cast Aluminum rear-end cover, air bags, and full UMI suspension parts.
NOTE: I do NOT have 500/600 RWHP, but rather only 450, so my info may not be applicable; but, having said that, I would submit for your consideration that Microniting the Ring and Pinion gears only cost one tenth (i.e. - $300) of a full blown 9" ($3k), and I cannot seem to break it.
One more point of order: I am also painfully aware that no one else here (ls1tech.com) has tried Microniting / Micro-polishing as a way of protecting the weakest link within the 10 bolt, so I am only a one person sample size (not statistically significant at all). But, I've saved $2700, and could not be happier.
